WHERE, HOW, AND WHY WE TAKE PRIDE IN THE ART OF SITTING

A Lounge defined within Webster Dictionary is a word that is able to be a verb and a noun. What this means is that the word itself carries the ability to be an action or a thing, and in our opinion the best lounge set ups offer both. They offer the action of sitting in a comfortable manner, or “to lounge.” But also the furniture and pieces themselves that offer an aesthetic sitting area or arrangement, otherwise known as “the lounge.” Above the title of this blog you will see four different lounge set ups, and over time we will be going in depth to the already styled lounge we here at Coral Lane actually offer. For now though we will focus on the art of setting up the lounges themselves.

As we talked about above, building a Lounge in itself is an art form. It needs to be representative of the ambiance you are trying to give off at your given event, and with these four different what we call blueprints, you can get a glimpse of what type of story you want to tell at your event.

Our first blueprint is called:

The Intimate- This is the smallest lounge that you can start receiving ideas off of. The lounge is styled around the couch sitting at the center point. So first find a couch within our inventory that you love. The couch itself offers a feel of community, the ability to sit together, something that will be leveled out with the rest of the lounge. Once the couch is chosen, it will be followed up by two chairs. The chairs offer a smaller availability of sitting area, this induces the idea that conversation can be more personal and intimate unlike a larger sitting lounge. Then to pull the pieces together you put a  table or some kind of accent piece that can take up the space in the middle. Tying the bow on top, you finish by sitting the pieces on top of a rug that pulls your entire aesthetic together.

The next blueprint is:

The Group- This styled set up is basically just combining two Intimate blueprints together. All it is really doing is expanding the ability of harboring intimate conversation, while allowing more seats for more people. The couches are still allotting the ability of people to sit together, giving off an ambiance of community, while the chairs are giving off the story that intimate-personal conversation is happening here.

This lounge blueprint is my personal favorite:

The Family- This set up is derived from a thought that everyone who sits in this lounge is very comfortable with the company of others. Instead of having any chairs, which offers a more secluded feel, the lounge is set up with three couches, creating an ambiance of community and friendship. There is nothing set in the middle, giving it that more open and airy feel. This lounge carries no ambiance of seclusion, everything is together and open.

The last lounge blueprint we have is:

The Congregation-  This lounge receives it’s name from the ambiance it gives off. It is built much like The Family Blueprint except at the head there are two chairs. The two chairs are actually what give the blueprint its name. The ambiance that is set when the two chairs are placed at the head gives off the idea that whoever is sitting there is leading the conversation. Everyone is centered around them. The couches offer community, much like said before, while the two chairs offer the idea of seclusion. Separating the balance of the two and inducing the idea that the two people that occupy the chairs are different than the others. This lounge is perfect for any office event, or wedding where the people occupying the chair have the ability to be recognized.

No matter how you choose to set up a lounge, the lounge itself will offer an edge to your event. A place for people to meet, greet, and carry on great conversation. A place to relax, love, and enjoy whatever is going on around them.

We hope this was helpful.

Love,

The CL Team.
